Gear up for the full moon

No matter where you are in the world or what month we are in, the full moon is a great opportunity for a fresh start.

The full moon of June is known as the Strawberry Moon because of the pink hue the moon takes on to illuminate the summer sky. The Strawberry Moon also signifies the beginning of strawberry picking season for the North American east coast. While you are taking the time to admire the moon in all of its beauty make sure to reflect, recharge and prepare for new beginnings.

The Importance of Loving Yourself

Over the past 7 years I’ve learned so much about myself, one of the most important things I’ve learned is how important it is to love myself.

You are the only thing that is always certain, that is always there, that is always consistent in your life.

We can’t predict what will happen in the future, in a week, in a day or even in the next second, but one thing for certain is we will always be ourselves.

By the time you are done reading this, so many other factors in the world will be changing around you, and you will still be you.

So what’s the point? YOU will always have YOU!

Think about how much more enjoyable your life would be if you just loved yourself. Sounds easy? Well, it’s not. I came up with a few simple rituals that will set you in the right direction every single day. Every day is a new opportunity to wake up feeling blessed, loved and rejuvenated.

 

Ritual 1: The “Thank You” Stone

Amethyst Crystal Cluster

Get yourself a crystal, geode, rock, stone, pebble or one of Little Blueberryy’s special crystals and make this your “Thank You” Stone. What’s a “thank you” stone? It’s a stone that you hold in your hands every night before going to bed. While your holding the stone say out loud what you are most thankful for from that day. It could be anything! While your mind is racing trying to come up with the BEST part of your day, you’re actually filling your head with all kinds of positive take away’s from the day.

“The best part of my day was… seeing my dog, getting a good grade on a test, going to lunch with my friend, going to yoga class…”

And now before you close your eyes and go to sleep you are flooded with positive thoughts and positive vibes only. Sweet dreams.

 

Ritual 2: The Sexy, Silk Goddess Ritual

My intern Sho brought this uplifting ritual to my attention. At Little Blueberryy’s Galentines Day photo-shoot I had thrown all my expensive, sexy little lingerie, overly revealing body suites, silk robes and fancy kimonos out on my bed and said

“well here’s all my beautiful things that I’ll never wear”

Ladies, lets be serious we have all been in this predicament!

So Sho mentioned that I should wear them around my apartment for myself. Not for anyone else. Who is stopping us from feeling sexy in our own skin? That’s right…nobody! So love yourself ritual number 2 is wear your lace bra and silk robe around your house for nobody, but yourself. Love yourself and the skin you’re in.

 

Ritual 3: Light The Night Ritual 

You can combine this ritual with ritual number 2 because personally I think its very suiting. Light the night is simple! Just find a nice quiet space, your sacred space. This can be in your bedroom, on your back porch, in your living room, studio, wherever, and light some candles. When you light the candle think about a positive intention or mantra such as “I am at peace”, “ Whatever is meant to be will find a way”, “everything is temporary”, “I vow to love myself”.

Ritual 4: Wake up, Bless up Ritual

Every morning when you first open your eyes, you should think about how blessed you are to even be waking up in a bed or on a couch or with a blanket or sheet or what have you.

If you have a nightstand keep a notebook in your nightstand or nearby your bed so when you wake up in the morning you can write down….

5 things you love about yourself and

5 things you are truly grateful for

 

Some mornings it might not be easy to think of even one thing you love about yourself, trust me I get that feeling, but think outside the box. They don’t all need to be physical qualities.

This practice will become a ritual after doing it every morning and you might even start to do this in your head mentally every morning.

 

Ritual 5: The Hottest One Yet

 This is one of my favorite pretty little secrets. In the morning before breakfast, before lunch, before dinner or before going to bed (at least once a day) boil yourself a big ol’ cup of hot water and squeeze some fresh lemon in it.

While you’re boiling your water be mindful of the time you are spending to provide yourself with one of the most important things in life, self-care.

Bless your hot water concoction with loving thoughts. Send healing vibes into your water and drink it slowly, taking in all the good vibes.

This ritual isn’t just about being mindful; it actually has many health benefits. By drinking hot water before eating you are less likely to overeat, so you can forget those drowsy overstuffed feelings! It gives you a little energy and immune system boost, helps with digestion and weight loss and freshens your breath!

Now if that doesn’t make you feel good about yourself I don’t know what else to tell ya!

I know all these rituals might not seem possible and you don’t have to do them all every single day, but try to get yourself in the habit of doing them. These rituals are sure to help you love yourself and express gratitude a little more and more everyday.

When we love ourselves anything is possible. We are capable of loving so many things; keep a little bit of that love inside and share some of that love with yourself.

Monday Motivation

Today is Motivation Monday, which is always so inspiring to me, reading all these quotes people post to help encourage you through the day. It is nice to see more and more encouragement online. It is also National Self Improvement Month and something that I think goes along with this is self care. So many more people are promoting self care; that yourself should be a priority. Too often we try to help others out, even when we know we can’t, don’t have the time, and money. Some of us just have really big hearts and we want to love everyone. But does that mean we should use up all that energy on others and leave yourself tired, exhausted emotionally, physically and probably mentally? Everyone should make time for themselves. YOU need to start making time for yourself. I am not saying to stop using that big heart of yours, I am not saying to stop helping others, or to stop caring or loving everyone so much. What I am saying is prioritize. There are times where you need to take care of yourself just as much, where you need to out your health first before someone else IN ORDER to be able to help that person AFTER. You can’t truly help someone without helping yourself first.

Self care doesn’t have to be these big grand things, they can be small enough to only take a few minutes a day for yourself. If you put yourself first for those couple of minutes a day they add up.

Here are a couple of small things that only take a few minutes:

-Taking several deep breathes with a quick meditation.

 

 

 

Wherever you are it’s easy to close your eyes, take 5 deep long breathes, and think of something positive, say a mantra, or whatever else you want or may need to meditate on. Meditation can be quick or it can take hours, it really all depends on what you need and what you’re meditating on.

 

 

 

 

-Have alone time while drinking your morning cup of coffee or tea.

 

 

This is something I know I need personally, and if you’re a busy bee too you probably also need that morning cup. This is also a great time you could work your deep breathing and meditation time in.

 

 

 

-10 -20 minutes of yoga.

 

 

 

There are several yoga flows you can do that aren’t a full hour of you don’t have that much time. The beauty of that is, it helps you refocus, fits into your schedule, you get your blood moving, and your stretching in. This could be a quick 10-20 minutes first thing in the morning, right before coffee/tea and meditation or before bed and relaxing enough to help you get a good night’s sleep!

 

 

 

There are so many other things you can do, whatever your favorite hobbies are whether it’s hiking, walking, running, knitting, reading, writing, maybe even a nap?! Hahaha! Just remember that it is a way of recharging yourself. A way for you to stay you and be that bright energy for others to see! So whatever you love doing to help you recharge, take time to do it, prioritize yourself!

Wellness Wednesday

Are you a busy working women with no time for a spa trip or a broke college student that can’t afford to spend money on a massage? Either way, if you struggle to find time to pamper yourself, we have the answer! LB has some DIY spa treatments that are low cost and easily done in the comfort of your home. You’ll save time and money while finally distressing and giving yourself the spa treatment you deserve!

1. Fruit water
Let’s start small. Simply adding lemon, cucumber or desired fruit in your water will make you feel refreshed and it will benefit your skin!

2. Cucumbers
Put cucumbers on your eyes for about 15 minutes. This will help with under eye bags and make you feel relaxed.

3. Face mask
Don’t bother spending money on face masks when you can make one with ingredients you have at home. Check out these face masks from self. Whether you struggle with acne or have stubborn blackheads, there’s a mask for all skin types.

4. Foot bath
Give those feet a rest and soak them in hot water. This will sooth your muscles and help with any pain in your feet. Adding salt and baking soda to the warm water will step up your foot treatment. Olive oil mixed with brown sugar is another nice remedy.

You may think essential oils are reserved for the hard core yogis, but anyone can and should use them. Not only do they give you calming vibes, the oil is fantastic for your skin. More benefits include improving sinus pressure, fights a cold, improves digestion and balances hormones. Cellulite and wrinkles can also be reduced. 6. Bath time
Baths are extremely relaxing especially if you add a bath bomb. They are tons of DIY bath bombs on the internet that are easy to make at home. A nice hot bath is the perfect relaxer plus it can sooth your muscles. Light some candles, grab a glass of wine and enjoy bath time.

Monday Motivation

It’s Monday and odds are your feeling completed drained and overworked. Your running out of ways to stay motivated and the extra coffee just isn’t doing it. Well LB has a relaxing, renewing and fun way to get you out of that Monday morning slump.

Monday Motivation

Its summer time and its time to relax, but that’s not always easy on a Monday. We still have our responsibilities, which are usually at an all time high in the beginning of the week.
